My first cover pencilled, inked, and coloured, all by myself.
I had to re-draw the background on this one, which ended up being a bit of a pain. Taskmaster, Black Mamba and Asp were originally in a hotel room in the layout and the inked lineart, but it looked a bit too dull to my editor, so I was asked to move them poolside, or just have the figures on a blank coloured background. Obviously I went with the pool setting.
AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE #31 Written by CHRISTOS N. GAGE Penciled by RAFA SANDOVAL Cover by DAVID YARDIN
A SIEGE: THE CABAL TIE-IN! Months of story threads finally weave together as Norman Osborn offers Taskmaster a seat at the Cabal's table...the Avengers Resistance uncovers a horrifying secret...and members of the Initiative are called up for an assault on an enemy of incalculable power! 32 PGS./Rated T+ $2.99
Knowing that your original setting changed does explain why a wooden chair is outside a pool, but I think you made a wise decision. This setting you picked is very visually appealing. I think you did a brilliant job on the color work. My artistic idol Fred Perry does the pencil/ink/color/text work for his comic Gold Digger. I really have to admire an artist who does all his own work. It can't be easy.
I would figure Osborn would offer someone a seat at the Cabal table. Seeing how he lost two members of it at once.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This contest ends on Friday the 18th December 2009. If you want to enter, get your entries in quick! Here are all the entries so far. Also if you want to donate a prize, that would be fantastic too, just note me

Sometimes I even amaze myself.
You did a job on Taskmaster's face. I never knew his origins, but I feel he is an interesting character.
