Steps 12. Clouds Final & 13. Final

Putting the foreground and background clouds together, I'm just about finished with the piece. The final thing to add was the bright light source. I'm not generally a fan of the standard Photoshop lens flares (I prefer to make my own if I'm going to use a flare effect), but in this case I think the stock standard flare worked out all right, and really amped up the brighness that I wanted from the light source (plus those little circle effects look cool 8-) ).

This looks great :D
The lens flares dont add a shadow effect like the lighting effects does it? I ask because I'm not good when it comes to shading.

Looks pretty good :) not a fan of the lensflare myself, but if it looks right, it IS right.

No the lens flare doesn't add shadows, it's a lighting effect. This is what it looks like over a plain black background [link]

Oh ok. I see it now. Do you have any tips on how to shade properly. I can always see it correctly in my head but I cant seem to project it onto what I am drawing on.

Excellent, I enjoyed viewing your process.

Very informative. I'm total crap at coloring so it's good to see how the professionals do it ^.^

Thanks for the step-by-step.

One recommendation for you: look at Nagel's Series 24 Vapor Smoke and Fog brushes.
