I do like to get as much background as I can on the characters I'm drawing. Unfortunately with this cover, I didn't get as much time for that, as I would have liked, due to the sheer number of characters on here.
Even with the characters I did know, my knowledge about them wasn't too deep. So it wasn't easy to work on.
